EWP Designer:

  • Read, interpret and understand blueprints and the building codes relating to residential, commercial or farm projects.
  • Ability to examine drawings and blueprints for intent, conformity and error
  • Design I-joist, beam and column components ensuring correct loading has been applied according to customer requirements, blueprints, and engineered specifications
  • Produce floor takeoffs, layouts, load development and beam designs using Alpine, iStruct and CAD software programs
  • Generate quotes quickly, efficiently and accurately for customers
  • The skill to deal with a variety of customers courteously and effectively having an exceptional customer service attitude in order to maintain excellent client interaction
  • Communication with engineers, architects and contractors regarding project details prior to and during construction
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers
  • Demonstrated skills working in a team environment
  • Proven ability at meeting deadlines
  • Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required
  • Willing to learn and contribute in whatever way possible

Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or engineering degree preferred but not necessary
  • Extensive work experience in engineered wood products industry
  • Strong knowledge of the engineering of wood I-joists and structural composite lumber products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the building and construction process as it relates to single family, multi-family and light commercial wood framed construction
  • Understanding of local building codes and construction practices
  • Experience in leading, motivating and developing staff members
  • Able to protect and reinforce a positive working culture

Truss Plate Assemblers:

  • Read and understand truss requirements according to cut sheets
  • Prepare and assemble prefabricated roof trusses from pre-cut wood
  • Attach metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and connect parts at joints
  • Use of hand tools and power tools
  • Perform checks on product output to ensure quality control
  • Track project completion at various checkpoints
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Maintain flow of production
  • No prior experience necessary / Training will be provided

Sawyers:

  • Read and understand truss requirements according to cut sheets
  • Determine quantity, size and grade of material required to be cut
  • Use of hand tools and power tools
  • Responsible for the safe operation of saws to cut lumber
  • Perform checks on output to ensure correct, consistent, and quality cuts
  • Track inventory to ensure accurate count of pre-cut raw material
  • Inspects equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Maintain flow of production
  • No prior experience necessary / Training will be provided

Plate Picker:

  • Read and understand truss requirements to form plate pick lists
  • Hand pick nail plates for truss production
  • Ability to be quick to respond to production needs
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ensure Assemblers are stocked with the correct plates required for each project
  • Organize boxes of plates into plate room
  • Maintain up-to-date plate inventory information
  • Work well in a team environment, interacting with all production workers daily
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Maintain flow of production
  • No prior experience necessary / Training will be provided

Helpers:

  • Work as part of a team to increase productivity and decrease downtime and waste
  • Strong willingness to take initiative required- position requires assisting in all jobs on the shop floor
  • Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously
  • Aptitude for noticing and filling gaps in production line as needed
  • Locates and provides tools, supplies and material for other employees when needed
  • Use of hand tools and power tools
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Maintain flow of production
  • No prior experience necessary / Training will be provided

Yard Workers:

  • Be comfortable working in an outdoor and warehouse setting
  • Organize storage of finished product and raw material
  • Ensure product/raw material is labelled and correctly stored
  • Maintain yard for safety, cleanliness and organization
  • Complete daily log of completed work
  • Assist the shop as needed
  • Assist drivers and forklift operators with loading and unloading products and materials
  • Ability to work physically and in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Maintain flow of production
  • No prior experience necessary / Training will be provided

Forklift Operator:

  • Operate forklift/telehandler in line with Safety Standards
  • Load and unload materials/finished products
  • Relocate items within the factory and storage areas
  • Ensure production floor is stocked with required materials
  • Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Check materials to ensure quality control
  • Complete daily inspection of equipment
  • Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Maintain flow of production
  • Prior forklift experience/obtainment of Forklift Certificate required

Delivery Drivers:

  • Ensure loads are properly loaded and secured
  • Safe operation of truck and trailer
  • Completion of Daily Vehicle Inspections/Log Books
  • Work fluidly with Forklift Operators and Yard Workers
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delays or equipment issues
  • Review paperwork to ensure accuracy of delivery load and destination
  • Ability to comprehend and complete on site paperwork and return to office
  • Report any on site issues to the office
  • Present yourself with professionalism as an onsite representative of UESC
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License and clean driving record required
